Jung received his PhD degree with a thesis titled 『Adaptation Type of Urban-Hanok in Seoul』. He also conducted numerous research on urban history including 『Bukchon, Space between Gyeongbok Palace and Changdeok Palace』. He is currently involved in various commons, community, region, and city related activities including the co-chairman of Sharing Seongbuk Roundtable (2017) and co-representative of Gyeongui Line Commons. He is conducting research based on his interest in cities where people and culture are concentrated. He is currently the president of the Research Institute for Culture & City.
